29 Jan Safeguard Helidecks Team Advises on a World First for Vertiport Landing Areas
Safeguard Helideck Certification are proud to announce that we are working with Urban-Air Port to provide design advice and certification for the world’s first flying taxi and drone airport landing area. Our team’s knowledge and experience of working with Superyacht single-spot aviation has proved invaluable to the team at Urban-Air Port who are designing the new Vertiport landing area.
Chris Wood, Operations Manager at Safeguard Helidecks shares his excitement for the project, “This is the future, and we are proud to be a part of it. The scope of work is huge, and we have had to start from scratch, developing a new set of standards and certifications for the Coventry Air-One® showcase.”
Air-One® is a world-first fully-operational ‘pop up’ urban airport and charging hub for future electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft – such as cargo drones and air taxis – to be launched in Coventry in November.
The team at Safeguard Helidecks are involved in ongoing work to develop a certification process that can be applied to all future Vertiports worldwide.
