As we mentioned recently, Safeguard Helideck Certification were in attendance at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show. The thoroughly enjoyable four day event came and went in the blink of an eye, featuring many spectacular new superyacht designs.
To give you an insight into some of the phenomenal superyachts that were on display, here is our favourite:
Words on a page can’t quite do Kismet justice, you have to see her for yourself (pictured above). At 315ft long, she was the largest superyacht on display at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018. Complete with a winter garden and with a charter rate of around $1.29 million per week, she attracts the richest and famous. She is owned by billionaire Fulham football club owner Shahid Khan and has been chartered before by Jay Z and Beyonce.
Monaco Yacht Show – Recap
Looking back, it was a huge success for both for ourselves and for the superyacht industry. The show provided us with the perfect opportunity to reach out to new superyacht clients. We also enjoyed the chance catch up with some of our existing clients too.
The Monaco Yacht show has been running for 28 years now, bringing together yacht owners, yacht brokers, naval architects, marine suppliers and media outlets over the years. While they have all been spectacular, many visitors and exhibitors have agreed that the 2018 show was one of the the biggest and most successful years yet.
From a business perspective, it was a very positive four days. The yacht brokerage and management firm, Fraser Yachts, announced that they achieved a total of 78 yacht sales during the course of the show. This made it their most successful show on record. As well as this, the event proved a vital platform for promoting business to business partnerships. We were especially excited to have the opportunity to meet with the SuperYacht Report, which we have an upcoming editorial in.
With superyacht business booming, this means there is a growing demand for the number of superyacht helipads. When it comes to chartering a superyacht, a helipad feature can really be the cherry on the icing on the cake – it allows for an effortless transfer between land and sea. Having helicopter access opens up the superyacht to a whole new world of adventure. With a helicopter landing pad on a superyacht, the world really is your oyster.
In order to charter a superyacht with a helicopter landing pad, it is essential for safety purposes that it has been issued with a Helicopter Landing Area Certificate (HLAC). HLAC’s are issued to superyachts that comply with the safety requirements of Cap 437 and the Reg Yacht code. Safeguard Helideck Certification are market leaders in inspecting and certifying superyacht helicopter landing pads globally. If a superyacht has been certified by Safeguard Helideck Certification, you can rest assured it is safe and ready for endless adventure!
